Drivers Information

  • What types of vehicles are in the parade?

    • We're looking for classic cars and classic trucks, we're also looking for unusual vehicles - we've had a restored milk truck/van in the parade.  Also some vehicles that aren't classics are in the parade because they're performing necessary  parade functions - carrying characters for example - or they have parade staff in them doing parade duties (directing the parade, tweeting the parade location, etc.)

  • If you have submitted an application but have not received an acceptance letter from our Secretary you have NOT been placed in the line up of 35 vehicles - submitting an application doesn't guarantee you a spot in the line up of vehicles for a parade.

    • This doesn't mean you won't be in the parade - we place vehicles necessary to the parade like cars carrying characters and cars with parade duties first.

  • Please be at the parade departure location between 5:30PM and 5:45PM.

  • Please wear a mask outside of your vehicle at the parade beginning and end  locations - even if you are vaccinated.

  • Do not throw anything including candy from the vehicles before, during or after the parade;

  • Drivers will have a current drivers license & vehicle liability insurance required by the California Motor Vehicle Code section 16020;

  • Drivers will not use cell phones during parade unless with a hands-free device;

  • Drivers will pull over to the side of the road if they encounter problems during the parade & rejoin at designated rendezvous points on the parade route;

  • Drivers will not pull over to pick up riders or stop the parade for any reason;

  • Only music approved by The Community Ho Ho Parade may be played during the event - family friendly Christmas music;

  • Drivers will obey all traffic laws & will follow all directions of motorcade escorts & parade managers;

  • Only the official Community Ho Ho Parade Santa can be dressed in a Santa suit at the before & after parties and during the parade.
